PDO threads offer a way to combat the visible signs of aging. Aesthetic issues like wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin form when the skin begins to lose its elasticity and strength. WHAT ARE PDO THREADS?
PDO threads are made from polydioxanone, a synthetic biodegradable polymer commonly used in surgery to close wounds. The material is safe to use, does not trigger allergic reactions, is not known to cause long-term issues, and can be safely fully absorbed by the body.
PDO threads can be used to lift sagging skin as well as rejuvenate skin thanks to specific properties of the material. A PDO thread lift is an excellent option for individuals who are interested in facial rejuvenation but are not comfortable with a full facelift. These individuals desire more dramatic and longer-lasting results than are possible with dermal fillers and other non-surgical methods.
HOW DOES A PDO THREAD LIFT WORK?
No incisions are needed to perform a PDO thread lift. The PDO threads are loaded into needles and inserted into the sub-dermal layers of the skin so that they run parallel with the layers of skin. Any excess thread is trimmed and will not be visible once the procedure is complete. The injection process does not leave visible marks on the surface of the skin.
PDO threads offer several different benefits. The threads provide immediate structure to the skin, lifting and smoothing out the skin as they are injected under the tissue. The threads also stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, which adds additional strength and tightens the skin. The threads do not trigger the formation of scar tissue once they are absorbed.
Threads can be injected into all the areas of the face where wrinkles, folds, and sagging are a concern, including the:

WHAT TO EXPECT
Immediate results will be apparent from the actual lifting offered by inserting the threads. The additional skin rejuvenation provided by the procedure should start to come in about one to two months. The texture of the skin should be smoother and the skin should feel firmer.
It will take around nine months for the threads to fully dissolve, but the results provided should extend beyond this time. Additional thread procedures can help to prolong your results.
